Mechel Supports Eco-Action to Apply Graffiti to Urban Objects

Press Releases
The Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (ChMK PJSC, part of the Mechel Group), together with environmentalists, is carrying out an action to visually improve the urban environment and decorate buildings.

In different districts of the city, Mechel employees and volunteers of the environmental organization Green City choose booths of transformer substations and other objects, the appearance of which leaves much to be desired. Artists decorate the walls of buildings with paintings in a positive tone. Large-scale paintings with an area of ten or more square meters are made based on Russian folklore and fairy tales of the world.

Colorful graffiti are already decorating the courtyards and streets of the Metallurgical and Kalininsky districts.

“The Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant is worried not only about production, but also about the state of city streets and courtyards. Therefore, we do not care in what mood people go to work and after it go home, what they see every day near their home. This action is part of a large environmental program that Mechel is implementing, ”explained Denis Sazontov, HR and Social Programs Director of the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant.

In the near future, objects decorated with funny stories will appear in several districts of the city. You can also find images on social networks using the hashtag #Mechelgorod.
