A new NP-1 electric locomotive in combination with two motor dump cars manufactured by the Novocherkassk plant entered the line at EVRAZ KGOK.
NP-1 locomotives of the Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant are designed for operation in deep quarries with difficult terrain. They are specially designed for EVRAZ Kachkanarsky GOK and have a large traction power (over a thousand tons), high speed (up to 65 kilometers per hour), equipped with four braking systems, which increases the safety of control.
NP-1 has created good working conditions for drivers: to improve visibility, the side walls of the cab protrude beyond the side walls of the body. Natural and artificial ventilation of the body is provided, the cab is equipped with two control panels, air conditioning, washbasin, refrigerator and wardrobe.
The new equipment meets all modern requirements for operation in open mine workings. Locomotive length 65 meters, weight 360 tons.
The new locomotive will transport ore from the Glavny, Severny, Zapadniy pits and the Yuzhniy deposit to the crushing plant, and waste rock to the dumps of the enterprise.
Every day one locomotive train - an electric locomotive and 11 dump cars - transports about 8 thousand tons of rock mass.
