Exactly 50 years ago, on April 16, 1969 in the Czech city of Kunovice, the L-410 aircraft manufactured by Let Kuovice (now Aircraft Idustries is a subsidiary of UMMC) first took to the skies. The compact twin-engine turboprop airliner was developed by the Czechoslovak company Let for regional passenger and cargo transportation.
The L-410 aircraft is distinguished by its ability to operate at small airfields and in difficult climatic conditions. The aircraft is designed to withstand temperatures from -50 ° C to + 50 ° C. The liner is capable of landing and taking off on short unpaved runways. In 2018, ski and float models were developed.
- This small Czech transport aircraft was lovingly designed, built with care and flown around with care, says Stanislav Sklenarж, Chief Pilot of Aircraft Idustries.
Over a half-century history in the Czech Republic, about 1,250 aircraft of various modifications were assembled. Today the aircraft is one of the most widely used in the world for regional transportation. They are operated in over 60 countries on 5 continents. The most popular model on the market is the L 410 UVP-E20.
- In Kunovice we have created and are producing a versatile, durable and reliable aircraft that has much to offer even in the new millennium. Over 50 years of operation, the L-410 has established itself as an excellent, conscientiously designed machine, says Ilona Plshkova, General Director of Aircraft Idustries.
On the eve of the anniversary date of 2019, the Federal Air Transport Agency certified the latest model of the Aircraft Idustries' regional aircraft line - L 410 NG ... Earlier the aircraft also received certificates from EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) and FAA (US Federal Aviation Administration). It is assumed that the L 410 NG will start operating in Russia by the end of 2019.
The L 410 NG is a deeply modernized version of the L 410 UVP-E20 aircraft that can accommodate 19 passengers. It differs from the base model in improved flight and operational characteristics. Cruising speed L 410 NG - 417 km /h. An integral wing with an integrated fuel tank made it possible to increase the flight range by almost two times and is 2,570 km, the maximum duration of stay in the air up to 10.5 hours. In addition, the luggage compartment has been doubled so that the L 410 NG can carry 400 kg more cargo. The aircraft is equipped with a completely digital new Garmi G3000 avionics complex. The system combines a weather radar, an autopilot and a number of other functions that reduce the workload on the crew and increase flight safety.
The improved parameters of the L 410 NG aircraft will allow to cover new markets and ensure the operation of new routes, which is especially important for the Arctic regions , Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation.
