Severstal's Yakovlevsky GOK is completing the largest investment project in the history of the enterprise - the construction of an ore drying complex. The ceremonial launch of the facility is scheduled for early September.
At the moment, commissioning tests of the new equipment complex are nearing completion. It consists of two drying drums, each 27 meters long and four meters in diameter. Also, the chain will operate two conveyors, two heat generators, an air purification system, a substation with external engineering networks. The total area of buildings is 4779.9 sq. M.
“The launch of the drying complex is strategically important for the Yakovlevsky GOKshag. The new equipment will reduce the moisture content of ore from 8 to 2%, which will exclude freezing of products in the cold season when sent to the northern regions, which in turn will avoid problems with unloading raw materials from customers. Due to the operation of new equipment, we plan to increase the supply of raw materials. The cost of the project is about three billion rubles ", - emphasized the director of the Yakovlevsky GOK Yegor Renev.
The design capacity of the complex is drying 500 tons of ore per hour. The equipment is automated as much as possible, six people will work on it per shift.
A powerful filtration system is installed at the drying complex. Waste gases are cleaned in cyclones and bag filters, then enter the smoke exhauster and pipe. The remaining ore sent to the filtration system is returned to production again. The indicators will comply with environmental standards.
The objects of the drying complex are made of metal from Severstal. Steel structures for the project were supplied by Severstal Steel Solutions.
This year, it is also planned to complete the construction of the loading and warehouse complex. For the dried ore, a warehouse, two conveyor galleries and corps for loading into railway cars will be built. This will make the process of transporting and loading ore completely closed - without the use of transport.
