On Wednesday, August 26, a delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, headed by Minister Denis Manturov, visited the Scientific and Technical Center of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) in Skolkovo. The familiarization tour for the delegation was conducted by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TMK Dmitry Pumpyansky and the CEO of the company Igor Korytko.
The guests were introduced to the unique research potential of the Science and Technology Center (STC), which has become the main platform for TMK and the Sinara Group to achieve the goals of innovative development and solving problems by companies in the framework of priority areas of modernization of the Russian economy. In particular, the delegations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia demonstrated the modern laboratory and research complex of the Scientific and Technical Center - the only one in our country, one of five in the world.
The center was put into operation at the end of 2019 for the purpose of development, digital modeling and complex tests materials, structures and technologies. STC is equipped with high-precision research equipment, as well as test benches with the ability to stretch, compress, bend pipes and other hollow metal structures with the application of external and internal pressure and create extreme temperature conditions.
“Timely investment in the creation of such scientific -technical centers is the key to further success in promoting products both in domestic and foreign markets. Previously, domestic companies stood in line to test pipes, but today it has become possible to do it in Russia. We invite foreign colleagues to test their products on the basis of our laboratory, "Denis Manturov emphasized after his visit to the Scientific and Technical Center.
" Today the Russian industry faces very serious, ambitious tasks for the formation and development of new high-tech industries that are globally competitive. In this sense, the scientific and technical center of TMK and the Sinara Group in Skolkovo was originally conceived by us not only with the aim of developing corporate science, but, first of all, as an inter-industry platform for searching and testing breakthrough ideas, which will provide an opportunity to realize the talents of young Russian scientists, and also for joint research with other industry innovation centers ", - said Dmitry Pumpyansky.
As part of the visit of the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia to the Scientific and Technical Center, a meeting was held, the participants of which discussed the prospects for creating a modern production of high-quality hot-rolled and cold-rolled flat-rolled products in Russia stainless and corrosion-resistant steel grades and alloys. The meeting was also attended by the chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation Arkady Dvorkovich, the president of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin and the general director of TsNIIChermet im. I.P. Bardina Victor Semenov.
