Metalloinvest, a leading manufacturer and supplier of iron ore products and hot briquetted iron in the world market, one of the regional producers of high-quality steel, is starting a new project for digital transformation of business processes: the introduction of a production scheduling system. The expected economic effect from the introduction of the technology will be from 90 million rubles per year.
The scheduling system, or Master Planning System (MPS), allows you to get the optimal production plan for the company, based on information about orders and their priority, customer segmentation, process flow diagram and supply chain.
At the first stage, the digital solution is planned to be launched at the Management Company Metalloinvest and at the Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant in the fall of 2021. Then it will be deployed to other enterprises of the Company.
Implementation of the project for digital transformation of processes and IT architecture of the scheduling system will allow Metalloinvest to create a single information space in the sales support - production - transportation chain, and improve the quality of collaboration.
The process of obtaining the information necessary for employees will be significantly accelerated and simplified, the detail of reporting and the timeliness of its provision will increase.
The processes of planning, distribution, assignment, determination of the utilization of production capacities, synchronization of actions between units and redistributions will become more transparent. The system minimizes routine operations of planners, frees up time for intellectual work, and creates the possibility of forming various scenarios for making effective management decisions and corrective actions.
Not only qualitative, but also quantitative indicators will significantly improve. In particular, the window for promising readiness for shipment and the duration of the order production cycle will be shortened, and the order fulfillment rate will increase just in time.
It is important to note that the functionality of the system involves not only maintaining the relevance of regulatory and reference information, but also proposing optimal algorithms for forming a comprehensive unified plan, taking into account existing opportunities and limitations.
Specialists from four companies are involved in the project. Metalloinvest Management Company, ZAO KonsOM SKS and JSA Group LLC will jointly develop the software part - IT tools for scheduling and managing production regulatory and reference information.
The task of Accenture LLC is to form a new model of the business planning process. The methodology will be updated, an organizational change program will be prepared, the necessary test scenarios will be generated, and methodological support will be provided for implementation.
