Metalloinvest, a leading manufacturer and supplier of iron ore products and hot briquetted iron on the world market, one of the regional producers of high-quality steel, has launched a ball rolling mill (SHPS) at the Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant.
For the needs of Metalloinvest's own enterprises, ShPS will annually produce about 43 thousand tons of rolled steel grinding balls. The project provides for the possibility of manufacturing and shipping new products to third-party consumers.
Construction of the SHPS was started in September 2019. Metalloinvest's investments in the project amounted to about 1 billion rubles. The main technological equipment was supplied by the Chinese engineering company WISDRI. The new production facility created an additional 85 jobs at the plant.

In the future, we will be able to offer grinding balls produced by OEMK and other mining and metallurgical enterprises. ”

The next step for us will be to expand our product mix to meet market needs. ”
Grinding balls are used to grind ore in ball mills at mining and processing plants. OEMK will produce balls with a diameter of 100 and 120 mm, weighing 4.6 and 8 kg and hardness groups 2 - 3 in accordance with GOST 7524-2015.
