In 2020, despite the coronavirus pandemic and the associated challenges, as well as the imposition of restrictions on the movement of goods due to quarantine measures, the Turkish asset of PJSC MMK showed good operating and financial results. Thus, at the end of the year, EBITDA amounted to $ 34 million, which doubled the planned level due to the growth in sales against the background of the successful implementation of the diversification strategy and increase in profitability. “The decisions formed during the period of significant quarantine restrictions in the 2nd quarter of 2020 allowed the company to timely and fully respond to the sharply increased demand after the abolition of quarantine in the second half of the year, offering the entire range of its products to the market without any production restrictions,” Denis said Kvasov, CEO of MMK Metalurji.
MMK Metalurji is a modern metallurgical complex on the territory of the Republic of Turkey. Since 2011, 100% of the company's shares have been owned by PJSC MMK. The complex in Turkey includes an electric steelmaking shop with a casting and rolling module, a cold rolling mill, a service metal center with a continuous hot-dip galvanizing unit and a polymer coating unit in Iskenderun, a service metal center with a continuous hot-dip galvanizing unit and a polymer coating unit in Istanbul.
