NLMK DanSteel, NLMK Group's plant in Denmark, supplied a thick plate for an offshore wind farm project in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, the first large wind farm in the French region of Brittany. NLMK DanSteel's high-quality steel is used to produce elements of wind turbine towers.
The Bay of Saint-Brieuc wind farm, scheduled to launch in 2023, will consist of 62 wind turbines covering an area of 75 km2. Its capacity will be almost 500 MW, the generated energy will be enough to supply more than 800 thousand people, a quarter of the population of the Brittany region.
NLMK DanSteel plans to actively develop its portfolio of products for wind energy, taking advantage of the recently implemented capacity modernization.
