According to the results of last year, the company sold 559 thousand tons of relevant products. At the same time, 90% of the volumes (500 thousand tons) were supplied to the domestic market. A significant increase in sales was achieved due to the entry into the MMK Group in 2017 of the Lysva Metallurgical Plant.
July 16, 2004, when the first unit with a capacity of 200 thousand tons per year was put into operation, was launched at the mill. It was designed by Voest-Alpine. In July 2009, the second polymer coating unit was commissioned. Its capacity is also 200 thousand tons; the equipment was supplied by the Italian company FATA HUNTER.
Polymeric coating units form a layer of plastisol, polyvinyldefluoride, polyester on the surface of cold-rolled sheet or galvanized steel. This allows us to obtain products with high corrosion resistance and improves other quality characteristics. The main market for coated sheet is the construction industry; significant volumes of polymer-coated metal are used in the production of household appliances. This year, APP No. 1 and 2 of PJSC MMK in total overcame the mark of 4 million tons of polymer-coated rolled metal produced since the start of the units.
As one of the country's largest manufacturers of pre-painted steel, MMK supplies products from two production sites: the main one in Magnitogorsk and from the MMK-LMZ site in the Perm Territory. The addressee of the majority of deliveries is the construction industry: rolled products with polymer coating are profiled and used as rolled products for the production of metal tiles (22%), corrugated board (56%) and sandwich panels (7%).
