Metalloinvest, a leading manufacturer and supplier of iron ore and hot briquetted iron in the world market, one of the regional producers of high-quality steel, and the largest electronic trading platform for corporate purchases and sales in Russia B2B-Center have developed a new tool, contributing to the formation of sustainable supply chains in the industrial sector.

It is based on a rating system for potential counterparties based on the values set forth in the UN Global Compact. So, during the initial accreditation at the B2B-Center site, potential counterparties provide information on the level of security at their own production, manifestations of discrimination, compliance with the principles of fair competition, respect for the environment, and anti-corruption measures. Obtaining a high level of assessment for any of the parameters requires the provision of supporting documents. Based on the results of the survey, the counterparties are assigned points and a single rating is formed.

The tool is self-contained and available not only to companies making purchases on the ETP.

“We have offered the market a tool for basic supplier assessment based on sustainable development standards and have already received positive feedback from our colleagues,” said Maria Kovalenko, Procurement Director of Metalloinvest. - The decision will allow to form a unified rating of counterparties, will further popularize the principles of sustainable development and the creation of responsible supply chains.

“Our solution is one-click configurable and easy to use. It saves companies time and resources: you do not have to independently check suppliers every time, you can use the data already collected. In the future, we plan to supplement the tool with an audit of suppliers, which will provide a deeper rating, ”commented Andrey Boyko, Commercial Director of B2B-Center.

A unified supplier accreditation tool for sustainable development standards was presented by procurement experts from Metalloinvest and B2B-Center at a meeting with colleagues from industrial companies, including Severstal, SIBUR Holding, NLMK, ChTPZ, Polyus Management Company, MMK and others.

For reference:

B2B-Center is the largest electronic trading platform for corporate purchases and sales in Russia. The country's first cloud service for effective management of trade and procurement activities began operating in 2002. During this time, 1.6 million trades were held on the site for a total of 22.5 trillion rubles. The number of users of the service exceeds 528 thousand companies.
