In the first half of the year, as part of its social policy, the MMK Group donated 355 million rubles to charity. Another 150 million rubles were allocated to support pensioners and disabled people as part of the comprehensive charity program "Care". Traditionally, treatment of employees and implementation of medical programs have become one of the most important areas of the company's social investments. For these purposes, in the six months of 2021, 264.6 million rubles were allocated.
In addition, in the first half of this year, the PJSC MMK Group allocated funds to compensate employees for the cost of vouchers for sanitary treatment (194.6 million) and organization of children's recreation (25.8 million). principles of a healthy lifestyle, popularizing sports and physical education and maintaining sports facilities (82.1 million), stimulating the birth rate, supporting motherhood and large families (62.3 million rubles), organizing mass cultural work and maintaining cultural centers (46.9 million ), provision of hot meals for the plant's employees (36 million), housing, youth, educational programs and other voluntary social obligations (69.5 million).
MMK also traditionally invests heavily in the development of the territory of its presence, which implies investments in cultural, sports and healthcare facilities, participation of the city-forming enterprise in landscaping and improvement of Magnitogorsk. In addition, within the framework of the We Are Together charity program, payments were made to doctors affected by COVID-19. In view of the continuing acute situation with coronavirus infection, the management of the plant decided to pay for Internet access for schoolchildren for the period until the end of this year, for whom tablets and laptops were purchased last year at the expense of the company.
In total, the MMK Group's investments in charity and social programs in the first half of 2021 amounted to 1,285.9 million rubles, of which over 900 million rubles were social investments of the parent company.
