Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) is ready to share its experience in conducting IT process development exercises and conduct joint events with other companies. This was stated by Anton Kokin, Director of Infrastructure and Cybersecurity of the TMK++ IT cluster, during the VI International Forum on Digitalization and IT in the Metallurgical Industry Smart Mining & Metals.
At the Corporate IT Processes session, Anton Kokin shared his experience in transforming the IT track of the TMK Horizons corporate forum into a comprehensive project to develop the competencies of specialists in the areas of development, cybersecurity and infrastructure, and invited partners to participate in the event.
The track is aimed at employees of the company's IT departments and is aimed at developing practical skills and teamwork. In 2025, it was combined with the Marketing and Sales department for the first time, with a total of 48 specialists participating. The participants solved an applied business problem. After the simulated merger of two companies, the specialists had to design a single IT infrastructure for the new organization.
As part of the comprehensive transformation of the IT function in the company, TMK++ experts combined three areas in the IT track: infra++ (infrastructure), sec++ (security), dev++ (development). The program included team competitions on prototyping solutions for business tasks, cyber studies and project presentations in the pitching format. The updated format made it possible to strengthen the development of professional competencies, and also became the starting point for the transformation of employee thinking: participants gained an understanding of how the work of each specialist affects related areas and business as a whole.
"For TMK++, it is critically important not only to develop technologies, but also to ensure the stability and security of all business processes, directly affecting the financial result and efficiency of the company. That is why, within the framework of the Horizons IT track, we have built a format in which the development, infrastructure and cybersecurity teams work towards a common goal, together with business. We will continue to develop this area and are ready to open it for external interaction, inviting colleagues from other companies to dialogue and joint exercises," said Anton Kokin.
The Smart Mining & Metals International Forum is an expert platform for discussion and exchange of experience on key issues and pressing issues of digitalization. The forum traditionally takes place at the sites of large metallurgical enterprises and gathers more than a thousand participants and one hundred experts.
TMK invited colleagues to participate in industrial IT exercises
