Kolchuginsky "Elektrokabel" produced the 10-millionth meter of metal mesh
Kolchugino (Vladimir region)
Kolchuginsky "Elektrokabel" (part of the Cable Alliance Holding, which unites the cable assets of UMMC) has set a new record. In March 2021, the 10 millionth meter of nickel mesh used in fuel filters in aviation and military equipment was produced.
“A cell in such a grid cannot be discerned with the naked eye - the wires lie so tightly: 80 pieces in one square centimeter are stretched along the base (vertically ) and 720 weft (horizontal). Each wire is three times thinner than a human hair. Such a high density allows the fuel to be purified from the smallest impurities, "explained Andrey Anisimov, head of the metal mesh workshop at EKZ JSC.
The metal weaving production was organized at the Kolchuginsky plant in 1922, when, by decision of the Supreme Council of National Economy, 13 metal looms of the liquidated Moscow factory of Glavbumprom. The plant began to produce nets for the paper industry.
In 1948, the plant launched a full-scale production of nets from the finest nickel wire, previously not produced in the USSR. Unique products were required for the development of the nuclear industry.
Currently, Kolchuginsky" Electric cable "- the only manufacturer of nickel and steel wire meshes in Russia. We have accumulated many years of experience in the production of copper, brass nets, stainless steel nets.
“The production of metal nets is our pride. The development of strategically important industries depends on the reliability of our products, therefore, the priority is to constantly improve the quality control system. The demand for products is growing, the shop is provided with orders for months in advance. Young cadres have come to us, which means new records are ahead, "said Evgeny Sukhodoev, director of EKZ JSC.
