A large number of cars turns the city into a poorly adapted environment for comfortable living. Increasing parking lots and road width does not solve the problem, but leads to more traffic on the roads. But, it is enough to highlight the well-thought-out parking place bicycles, as some people will immediately switch to an alternative mode of transport. Residents of the city want to switch to bicycles, but this is hindered by the lack of infrastructure.
Road safety
The rules of the road clearly spell out how each participant in the movement must behave on public roads. But, in practice, violators from all sides make the existence of public transport, cars, cyclists and pedestrians almost impossible. Having a well-implemented bike path solves the following problems:
- Minimizes the number of accidents associated with hitting a cyclist.
- Increases the safety of unprotected road users in the city.
- Increases willingness to switch to a fast and cheap mode of transport.
- Reduces traffic jams on city streets.
- Strictly separates streams, each has its own dedicated line for movement.
The speed of cyclists on special bike paths is much higher than on roads with cars. Cyclists can feel more secure. Do not follow the rapidly changing situation on the roadway, but enjoy every kilometer covered along the streets.
Convenient infrastructure
In contrast to a car, a bicycle takes up much less space in the parking lot. But, for this purpose, it is not enough just to allocate a piece of asphalt in front of the building. Requires special parking equipment. It will solve several problems at once:
- the bike is stored upright;
- it is possible to fasten it to the parking lot with a special lock;
- the rack holds a lot more bikes;
- Parking should take into account the specifics of modern bicycles.
A look at the infrastructure of a modern city through the eyes of a cyclist, it is far from perfect. On the way to work or home, there is a high probability of being hit by an inattentive or hurrying car driver. Problems with parking have to be solved either with a small tree or with other city infrastructure. Meanwhile, cyclists simultaneously unload the streets of the city, making them safer and less polluted with exhaust gases.
