Effective protection of the electrical cable

Электротехника

Large enterprises that consume large amounts of electrical energy use concrete trays and specially designed slabs to protect large-diameter cables.

Effective protection of the electrical cable

The installation of an electrical network does not always provide an uninterrupted supply of energy to the required facility. The cable can be subject to many negative operating factors. Special electric pipes will ensure the integrity of the cable so that there are no interruptions in the power transmission process. Protection against mechanical damage is the most common, both in everyday life and in production.

When it is necessary to protect the cable

Wherever there is a risk of mechanical damage to the cable, it should be additionally protected. Most often, additional measures are resorted to in cases where the connected equipment plays an important role in safety or in the production cycle at the enterprise. Depending on where the protection will be installed and the cable will be laid, the protection is divided into several groups:

  • Underground cable laying in places of possible excavations and cable damage during everyday operation.
  • Outdoor laying along the walls of buildings of cable products responsible for the operation of actuators.
  • Laying a cable inside the wall for protection during repair work and from the vital activity of rodents.

The most reliable protection is double-walled pipes, able to resist the negative factors of exploitation for the longest time. But, even an ordinary plastic corrugated tube increases the safety of the wiring several times if it is installed in a timely manner in separate areas.

Materials used for cable protection

Large enterprises that consume large amounts of electrical energy use special-design concrete trays and slabs to protect large-diameter cables. In practice, other tubular materials can also be used to protect individual circuits or cables of small diameter:

  1. metal materials have a high cost and increased strength during operation;
  2. polymer materials perfectly resist negative factors operation and provide easy installation;
  3. ceramics are rarely used as underground protection for cable products.

Corrugated PVC pipes have proven to be an excellent protective material in many cases of laying cable products. Unlike metal, they have a more flexible structure and improved tightness. High-quality double-walled corrugated pipes perfectly resist the physical stresses created by external operating factors.
