Industrial and production electrical equipment requires mandatory grounding. It allows you to ensure the necessary level of safety and eliminate voltage breakdown with high current characteristics on the housing or control functionality. Grounding installation is carried out according to the developed design scheme during installation work. ground loop resistance measurements are carried out using special certified measuring equipment. The work is carried out:
- A qualified full-time electrician who has the appropriate permit or on contractual terms by a licensed company.
- Using special coefficients in calculating tolerances (taking into account the ambient temperature).
The results obtained are entered into the technical data sheet of the equipment. They serve as the basis for making a decision on the possibility of further operation or emergency shutdown of the equipment until the causes affecting the quality characteristics of the drainage of critical electrical currents into the ground are eliminated.
Established standards and frequency of measurements
Officially Electrical equipment put into operation must undergo regular checks for serviceability and compliance with the safety standards established for this type. Measurements of the resistance of the grounding loop are carried out at the following frequency:
- For groundings used on overhead line support devices with voltages up to 1 kV - at least once every 6 years.
- For overhead lines with a voltage of more than 1,000 V - 1 time in 12 years of operation.
- For electrical installations of various types up to 300 V - according to the scheduled maintenance schedule (PPR). Approved by the consumer's manager with mandatory implementation once every 12 years.
The absence of standard marks on the conduct of grounding resistance measurements by a full-time electrician or specialists invited on the basis of a contract is a condition for holding responsible officials accountable.
