Worldsteel monitors the sustainability performance of the steel industry, reporting on eight indicators annually. Through regular assessments, the association identifies areas that are most important to the industry and all stakeholders.
In 2018, 71 Worldsteel member companies signed the Steel Industry Sustainability Charter. The Sustainable Development Charter affirms the commitment of member companies to embrace sustainability as a core business practice that is vital to any company’s operations.
The Association conducts an assessment on eight basic and seven additional parameters, assessing the environmental, social and economic sustainability of companies.
