According to the Association of enterprises "Ukrmetallurgprom" in the first quarter of 2020, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises produced 4.62 million tons of finished rolled steel (101,8% compared to the same period of 2019), of which, according to OOO "ETR-Spectrum", exported about 3.96 million tonnes or 85.6 per cent. In the same period last year (APPG), the proportion of exports accounted for 89.7% (4,07 million tons with the total production of rolled metal of 4.54 million tons).
For January-March 2020 in the domestic market of Ukraine set 918,7 thousand tons of rolled metal, of which 255,7 thousand tons, or 27.8 percent, have to import. Over the same period in 2019, the domestic market consumed 764,1 thousand tons, of which 297,1 thousand tons, or 38.9 per cent, imported. Thus, in the beginning of 2020 was an increase in steel product consumption in the domestic market compared to January-March 2019 20.2% with a simultaneous decrease in the share of imports by 11.1%.
the share of semi-finished products export in three months 2020 had 51,89%, which significantly exceeds the figure of January-March 2019 (44,90%). The proportion of flat rolled export for three months in 2020 are noticeably lower than in the same period 2019 (30,31% and of 34.36%, respectively). The same pattern is observed in the rolled — 17,80% for the three months 2020 versus 20.74% for the three months 2019.
Structure of imports for the three months 2020, is characterized by a marked dominance of long products over flat (51,74% and 46,54%, respectively); in the same period last year was observed the dominance of flat rolled over varietal (respectively, 56,14% and 39,08%).
