The Board of the IMF approved a 12-month loan program of Egypt in the amount of 5,2 billion dollars

Executive Board of the International monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday approved a new 12-month standby arrangement in the amount of 5.2 billion US dollars, which is intended to help the country cope with a pandemic coronavirus, as well as to balance the budget and the balance of the underpayment and interest payments.

In a statement, the IMF said that the program "will also help the authorities to preserve the gains achieved over the past four years, will support the expenditure on health and social spending to protect vulnerable groups and promote a number of key structural reforms."

Recall that the IMF has approved granting Ukraine a $ 5 billion in the framework of the credit stand-by 18 months. The first tranche in the amount of 2.1 billion dollars Kiev has already received. The remaining tranches will be allocated according to the results of four surveys that will be conducted by the experts of the Fund.

this week the IMF downgraded its financial forecasts for the year 2020. If in April, he predicted the decline of the world economy by 3%, now is expected to decline by 4.9%.
