In a report from the European Commission magazine, the applicant, the European Wheel Manufacturers Association (EUWA), provided evidence that imports of Chinese wheels have grown, significantly increasing the European market share and harming EU manufacturers.

The EUWA, of which Jantsa SA, GKN, Superior Industries and Arconic are members, cited distortions in the Chinese energy market, steel surplus and EU trade measures restricting imports of many steel grades, but not all steel products, in its complaint. EU magazine.

The association claims that the European market for steel wheels is worth around 1.5 billion euros (1.7 billion dollars) and the market for aluminum wheels is 4.5 billion euros per year.

An investigation could result in interim duties being imposed within nine months, with final duties, usually imposed for five years, being set in 15 months.
