According to the European Automotive Association ACEA, sales of new passenger cars in the EU in February increased by 10.1% compared to the same month last year, reaching 883,608 units.

Sales Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in the EU grew by a modest 9% to 106,187 units, maintaining a stable market share of 12 percent.
At the same time, sales of hybrid vehicles (HEVs) increased by 24.7% to 255,511 units, representing 28.9% of the market. Demand for plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) also increased by 11.6% to 64,351 units.
The gasoline vehicle market grew by 6.1% to 313,821 units. However, despite this, the share of gasoline cars in February sales in EU markets fell from 36.9% to 35.5%.
Sales of diesel cars decreased by 5.1%, to 113,891 units, which accounts for 12.9% of the market versus 15% last year.
In just the first two months of 2024, more than 1.7 million new passenger cars were sold in the EU, which is 11.2% more than in past.
