This week, due to the upcoming holidays, the long products market in Romania remained relatively unchanged compared to the previous week, while prices remain stable both in the single reinforcement plant and in the retail market.
However, according to insiders, due to the ongoing weak trade and declining supply of imported goods, several traders decided to reduce their offers in order to attract the interest of buyers. As a result of the general unfavorable market conditions, many traders predict that prices may start to decline in the coming weeks.
Over the past week, prices for rebar on the domestic market from the only local manufacturer remained at the level of 590-605 euros per ton.a ton of finished products. Similarly, retail prices for rebar in Romania have remained stable at 610-620 euros per ton from the warehouse since last week.
However, as mentioned earlier, some traders have started offering prices lower than in most markets, at around €600-605 t/t from the warehouse.
Similarly, nothing has changed in the Romanian wire rod market, as the outlook remains weak. Domestic prices remain stable and amount to approximately 580-595 euros per ton from the warehouse.
On the other hand, in the import segment, although no new purchases were made in Romania, sources reported that Turkey had sold several shipments to Romania over the past two weeks, the FOB price was 540-550 dollars per ton. Meanwhile, the current rebar offers from Turkey to Romania at an exchange rate of 1 euro = 1.14 US dollars and freight of 25-30 euros per ton were presented at a price of 495-515 euros per ton compared to 500-510 euros per ton compared to last week. In contrast, Bulgaria's rebar supply remained stable at 620-640 euros per ton without VAT, while Egypt's offers for wire rod and rebar also remained stable week after week, amounting to 560-565 euros per ton without VAT and 550-555 euros per ton without VAT, respectively. In addition, according to sources, Moldova will soon begin offering fittings, which are expected to be sold at a reasonable price and may attract Romanian buyers. Previously, the offers for the supply of fittings from Moldova to Romania amounted to about 610-620 euros per ton, excluding VAT.
