Prices for flat rolled products in Europe continued to decline during the week to Wednesday, June 11, amid lower demand and a seasonal slowdown that continues to affect the market, Fastmarkets sources said.
In Southern Europe
The sources indicated that the market for the cold-rolled roll price during the evaluation period was 680-700 euros (760-783 dollars) per ton from the factory, an increase of 20 euros compared to 700 euros per ton from the factory in the previous week.
This week, offers were received at a price of 680-690 euros per ton from the factory.
The sources cited "competitive imports" and "bearish customer sentiment" as the main reasons for the price drop, and also pointed to a slowdown in demand from end consumers.
