Andritz has completed the delivery of a continuous etching line, an acid regeneration unit, an acid purification unit and silicon removal systems to the voestalpine plant in Linz, Austria.
These installations have been integrated into voestalpine's cold rolling mill No. 3 in Linz,[b]Kallanisch[/b]is studying with Andritz. The equipment of the equipment supplier allows voestalpine to perform etching and cold rolling in a combined plant. Andritz has supplied the world's most advanced acid regeneration plant, meeting the highest environmental standards and allowing flexible production of high purity iron oxide.
The continuous etching line is designed for processing high-quality steel grades and special materials to ensure electronic mobility. It has a capacity of about 1.8 million tons per year and runs on hydrochloric acid, which is processed at an acid regeneration plant. Andritz emphasizes that the recovery rate is almost 100%, which makes a significant contribution to environmental protection.
"The new installation allows us to improve the production quality of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel tape," says Walter Schickmeier, head of voestalpine's business unit. The products will be designed for the automotive industry, the manufacture of household appliances and construction, as well as for the production of electrical steel for electric vehicles.
