Italian rebar manufacturers have raised prices

Italian rebar manufacturers plan to increase the price of November contracts by 40 euros per ton (46 US dollars per ton), citing the unstable current price level and the need to restore margins.

This decision was made after a successful price increase in mid-October, as a result of which the value of transactions increased to 250 euros per ton. This week, transaction prices have hardly changed compared to last week. Market participants do not report a significant shortage of supplies, although, according to Kallanish, one plant has limited reserves in certain parameters.

This week, it is reported that the purchase level is 250-260 euros per ton from the manufacturer, depending on the volume of orders. For November, manufacturers are offering 290-300 euros per ton from the factory, depending on the supplier. Taking into account the size allowances of 260-270 euros per ton, the actual transaction prices currently amount to 520-530 euros per ton from the factory.

In parallel, manufacturers are also seeking to raise base prices for the grid to 390-400 euros per ton in November. Grid prices remain stable week after week and amount to about 360 euros per ton, excluding an additional 300 euros per ton for additional dimensions.
