The Fimi Group has completed the delivery and installation of new Flytronic flying scissors at the Dutch Vogten Staal service center, Maastricht, integrating them into the existing alignment and length cutting (CTL) line.
The project was developed as part of an upgrade initiative aimed at improving the reliability and performance of the cutting section, according to Kallanish from the technology supplier.
The modernization of the "flying scissors" allows the customer to achieve a more stable and reliable cutting process, reducing operational problems and contributing to increased overall line efficiency, explains Fimi.
According to Fimi, on the CTL line, movable shears are one of the most important sections, as they directly affect the overall performance of the line.
When processing large-size and high-strength steels, increased mechanical loads require specially designed high-strength equipment with a well-chosen design and advanced control systems.
For this reason, processing plants and service centers for metal structures are paying more and more attention to targeted modernization projects, including the modernization of key components and machine tools on existing lines, Fimi notes.
