Southern Europe

During the week until Thursday, deals were concluded for the supply of Italian rolled steel at a price of 750-780 euros (876-911 dollars) per ton from the plant, which did not change compared to orders a week earlier, while the lower limit of the range applied to large volumes, while the higher price was associated with smaller shipments, it was reported. sources.

One trader said that offers in Italy reached 800-830 euros per ton from the manufacturer during the week, compared with 800 euros per ton from the manufacturer, due to rising production costs, but no deals were reported.

Fastmarkets' weekly price estimate for domestic 8-40 mm thick rolled steel exported to Southern Europe on Thursday was 750-780 euros per ton, unchanged from April 9.

On April 9, market participants reported little demand for rolled steel in Italy, while anticipating increased costs for distributors due to rising raw material costs for slab production and limited supply of slabs.

Fastmarkets' weekly price estimate for steel slabs imported in Italy was $600-620 per ton on Thursday, compared with $590-620 per ton a week earlier.

Meanwhile, the market for imported rolled products was developing slowly, and one manufacturer set an acceptable price level from Asia to Spain at 700-750 euros per ton CFR, unchanged week after week.

According to sources, larger import deals from India, Japan and South Korea were concluded in Italy at a price of 790-800 euros per ton, but they were not included in the Fastmarkets estimate, which only covers CFR prices.

Fastmarkets' weekly price estimate for steel sheet (8-40 mm) imported from CFR's main port in Southern Europe was 664-700 euros per ton on Thursday, unchanged from April 9.

Northern Europe

In the German domestic market, steel sheet was offered at a price of 800-830 euros per ton from the factory during the week up to Thursday, unchanged from previous levels, but no new deals were reported in the calm market.

One trader reported an offer of 830-840 euros per ton of DAP Ruhr for an S235 plate, but this was not included in the estimate, which concerns materials produced at the plant.
