The European Commission has amended anti-dumping measures against imports of Chinese tinplate, granting Linqing Hengtai Metal Materials a new manufacturer-exporter status.
The company will now be subject to a 24.6% duty on cooperating exporters who have not been sampled, after confirming that it did not export during the initial investigation period, is not affiliated with existing exporters, and began shipments to the EU only after the investigation began.
Existing duties on Chinese tin vary from 13.1% to 46.8% for selected firms and 62.3% for non-cooperating exporters, Kallanish notes.
