The Romanian long products spot market remained mostly stable this week, although the softer sentiment seen in recent weeks continues to put pressure on trading activity.
Market participants note that demand remains limited, and buyers continue to focus primarily on immediate needs amid generally unfavorable market conditions. The approaching summer holiday season also contributed to the creation of an atmosphere of caution, limiting new buying activity and reducing the overall dynamics of the market. While most traders have kept their official prices unchanged, sources report that some traders are still willing to accept discounts on spot trades, especially for serious buyers and large shipments, reflecting continued difficulties in increasing sales volumes.
As a result, spot prices for rebar in Romania remain stable at 635-640 euros per ton from the warehouse, while prices for wire rod are still 685-690 euros per ton from the warehouse.
As for production, Beltrame Group still indicates prices for rebar at around 640-650 euros per ton from the plant, maintaining the same supply level compared to the previous week.
Meanwhile, activity in the import market remained low this week due to the deterioration of the situation in the domestic market. Buyers showed limited interest in new orders, and there were no reports of new import offers at the time of publication. There have been reports of offers from Bulgarian fittings at a price of about 650-665 euros per ton CFR. On the other hand, the offers from Greek suppliers remain stable: rebar costs 655-665 euros per ton, wire rod - 665-675 euros per ton. Meanwhile, non-EU countries have received offers from Egyptian suppliers at a price of 545-555 euros per ton of rebar and 555-565 euros per ton of wire rod, compared with 545-550 euros per ton of rebar and 560-565 euros per ton of wire rod last week. Turkish suppliers, meanwhile, have slightly reduced their rebar offers to 530-545 euros per ton in Romania, compared with 535-545 euros per ton in Romania, which were reported last week, based on the exchange rate of 1 euro = 1 dollar. 15 and the estimated transportation costs are 25-30 euros per ton.
