Thyssenkrupp moves to tk accelis floating materials division

Thyssenkrupp tk accelis steel distribution division, formerly thyssenkrupp Materials Services, will be spun off and listed on the stock exchange.

The division employs 15,500 employees, approximately 250,000 customers worldwide, and has revenue of 11.4 billion euros ($13.2 billion), with 7.6 million tons of materials sold in fiscal year 2024/25.

It appeared on the market under a new brand just a few days ago, which was the first step towards independence (see "Callanish" dated June 11, 2026). According to the parent company, tk accelis has a strong position in fast-growing industries such as aviation, defense, and data centers, and therefore has a strong operating base for its next step in the capital markets.

The plans provide for the transfer of a 49% minority stake to thyssenkrupp AG shareholders in proportion to their stake in thyssenkrupp AG and the listing of shares on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The allocation requires the approval of an extraordinary general meeting scheduled for August 7. If the general meeting approves this decision, thyssenkrupp will retain a controlling stake even after the spin-off. In this case, Tk accelis will remain a fully consolidated company within thyssenkrupp, the group said in a statement.

"Tk accelis has made impressive progress in recent years. thyssenkrupp AG CEO Ilse Henne and her team systematically position the company as a fully integrated distributor of materials and a powerful supplier of supply chain services," says thyssenkrupp AG CEO Miguel Lopez. "Now is the right time to take the next step and establish tk accelis as an independent company."
