Swedish environmentally friendly steel manufacturer Stegra has announced the selection of four shipping and logistics companies that will be responsible for maritime transportation in the Boden plant's supply chain. We are talking about both the delivery of raw materials and the shipment of finished steel products.
The company's partners are ESL Shipping, Royal Wagenborg, Pangaea Logistics Solutions and Clarksons. Each of them will be responsible for a separate section of Stegra marine logistics.
ESL Shipping and Royal Wagenborg will take over European steel shipments. These companies will deliver scrap and cast iron to Boden, as well as ensure the export of finished products to service centers and customers throughout Europe.
According to Stegra, ESL Shipping has a modern fleet, experience in the Baltic region, and focuses on environmentally friendly shipping. Royal Wagenborg, for its part, is known for its experience in shipping in the Baltic Sea, ice-class vessels, and a versatile fleet.
Pangaea Logistics Solutions will be responsible for the supply of iron ore. The company specializes in bulk cargo transportation and has experience in Arctic and ice conditions.
Clarksons, the world's largest shipping broker, acted as a strategic consultant to Stegra. The company helped develop efficient, scalable, and low-carbon shipping solutions that should support the enterprise's supply chain.
Stegra noted that the new agreements complement the agreements already concluded with ports and the railway. Earlier, the company announced cooperation with the Swedish ports of Lulea, Shellefteo and Umea, as well as an agreement with the state railway operator Green Cargo, which covers transportation between the ports and the Boden plant.
