Rebar prices in the Polish domestic market rose in the week to Friday, September 25, amid high production costs and weak demand.
Demand remains weak,— said a source in the distribution company.
According to market participants, metallurgical enterprises expect to raise prices due to the rising cost of oil and energy resources. Some plants have already adjusted production schedules in response to the rising cost of electricity and other resources.
Domestic prices for rebar were estimated at 2750-2800 zlotys per ton, which is equivalent to 724-737 dollars. It was in this range that both sellers' offers and acceptable levels for buyers were located.
Fastmarkets' weekly estimate for fittings for delivery in Poland rose to 2750-2800 zlotys per tonne, compared with 2740-2800 zlotys per tonne a week earlier.
In the wire rod market, the price targets remained at the level of 3150 zloty per ton with delivery. Fastmarkets' estimate for drawing wire quality steel wire in the Polish domestic market remained unchanged at 2900-3150 zlotys per ton.
