Bulgarian company Stomana Industry, part of the Sidenor group, has signed a contract with Danieli for the supply of new rolling equipment for the plant in Pernik, Kallanish reports.
According to the supplier, as part of the project, the company will install a feed system for the Danieli K-Spool line, which was transferred from the Sovel Micro mill in Greece. The line is expected to be launched in winter. In addition, the existing abrasive circular saw will be replaced at the plant.
"By integrating the former Sovel rebar winding line and installing a new saw, Stomana will expand its capabilities to meet the growing demand for compact rebar rolls and higher quality SBQ products," the company said.
The new rolling line will operate as part of the transferred Danieli K-Spool installation and will allow the production of compact fittings in rolls weighing up to 3.6 tons and with a diameter of 8 to 20 mm.
The Danieli delivery package includes two preparation boxes, pressure rolls, shears for cutting and chopping, an eight-way finishing unit with an annular manipulator, as well as six water supply units with corresponding valve stands, lubrication and hydraulic systems.
The project is designed for thermomechanical rolling in combination with Danieli SQ soft quenching technology, a multi—stage controlled cooling process that improves the uniformity of metallurgical properties, dimensional stability and repeatability of products.
The new abrasive circular saw will replace the existing unit and will be used for cutting SBQ workpieces with diameters from 20 to 130 mm and lengths from 5 to 12.1 meters. Thanks to an improved locking system, a more powerful drive, an increased disk life, accelerated replacement of cutting tools and more convenient access for maintenance, the new equipment should improve the quality and increase the volume of SBQ production.
