Typhoon Isheri, Chairman of the Turkish YISAD Association, said that over the past four to five years, efforts have been made to raise the international profile of this annual conference, which is being held for the eighth time this year, and that this year the conference marks the first cooperation with EUROMETAL.
In his presentation Alexander Julius, EUROMETAL board member, informed the participants about EUROMETAL services. Declaring that 18 European national steel distributor federations, 50 individual distributors and service centers and 25 steel trading companies are uniting under the auspices of Eurometal, he said that the company represents about 3,500 companies and 100,000 employees.
Mr. Julius also said that although Turkey is becoming an increasingly important player in the global steel industry due to its imports, it should also be active in exports due to its growing production capacity.
In this context, he stated that they are working to develop cooperation between European manufacturers and Turkish manufacturers, and that these two regions cannot be considered separately from each other in terms of trade due to the geographical position of Turkey.
Julius added that, as EUROMETAL, they cover the entire supply chain and have developed a clear structure for the steel industry as a result of sharing information with their members.
