In the first half of this Iranian year (March 21 - March 22), steel producers as a whole produced 23.26 million tonnes of semi-finished and finished steel products, up 6.43% over the same period last year (APPD) .
According to the latest report of the Iranian Steel Association, the share of semi-finished steel was 13.08 million tons, which is 6% more than in the previous year.
Billet production was 7.67 million tonnes, while slab production was 5.41 million tonnes, up 13% and 3% less, respectively.
For finished steel products, production increased by 8% year on year to 10.17 million tonnes.
Flat products accounted for the lion's share of finished steel production - 5.26 million tons, which is 7% higher than in the previous year. Hot-rolled steel amounted to 4.41 million tonnes, cold-rolled steel - 1.3 million tonnes (an increase in both categories of 5% yoy).
