Turkey's crude steel production in September fell by another 6.9% compared to August and amounted to 2.7 million tons. It was reported by the Turkish Steel Manufacturers Association (TCUD) on Monday, October 21.
Total crude steel production in January-September fell 10.1% year-on-year to 25.3 million tons from 28.1 million tons.
Steel production in electric arc furnaces decreased in 9 months by 12.1% to 17.2 million tons, the output of blast furnace production decreased by 5.5% and amounted to 8.1 million tons.
Production of steel billets fell in January-September by 16.8% to 15.6 million tons, production of finished steel plates increased by 3.2 percent to 9.7 million tons.
