In January-April, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises increased steel production by 1% compared to the same period last year, to 2.425 million tons. In 4 months of 2024, steel production amounted to 2,402 million tons.
According to the operational data of Ukrmetallurgprom, pig iron production increased by 8.1% year-on-year over the corresponding period, amounting to 2.363 million tons against 2.186 million tons last year.
In 4 months, Ukrainian enterprises also increased the production of rolled metal to 1,982 million tons, which is 0.5% higher than the result of January-April 2024 of 1,973 million tons.
In April, 692 thousand tons of steel were produced (in March – 550.5 thousand tons), 661 thousand tons of cast iron (563.2 thousand tons), 547 thousand tons of rolled products (478.4 thousand tons).
