On the high-speed railway, trains will run not on the usual rails and sleepers, but on a special monolithic structure.

The structure will consist of several layers: the upper one is made of high–strength plates with half–beams in which rails are laid, the middle one is made of non–shrinkable concrete, and the lower one is made of ordinary concrete reinforced with steel reinforcement.
This solution will ensure high smoothness, durability and maintainability of the structure.
In early August 2025, the Ministry of Transport announced that construction of a plant for the production of rail plates for the Moscow–St. Petersburg high-speed railway had been launched in Veliky Novgorod.
