At the Okean shipyard in Nikolaev, a new dry dock batoport has been completed. All devices and systems are fully assembled. At the final stage, painting of the structure continues. The plant's specialists are developing an operation to transport and install a batoport, which will take place in the coming months.

Okeana dry dock is one of the largest in Europe and the only one available in Ukraine. It has a length of 355 meters, a width of 60, and a depth of 17.1 meters. The pre-dock site has an area of 35 thousand square meters. The dry dock is equipped with two gantry cranes with a lifting capacity of 320 tons each and four erection cranes of 80 tons each.

Restoring the dry dock allows the Ocean Shipyard to both accept heavy-duty ships for repairs and implement unique shipbuilding programs.

Work on the creation of a new design of the dry dock shutter, which will provide a reliable overlap of the chamber and the possibility of regular use of the dry dock, was started in April this year. The completion of the restoration of the dry dock gate is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2021.

LLC "Nikolaev Shipyard" Ocean "(until April 2011 -" Wadan Yards Ocean ", until December 2008 - Damen Shipyard 's Okean, until February 2001 -" Shipyard "Ocean") was created in 1951, one of the three largest shipbuilding enterprises in Ukraine. The main activities are shipbuilding and ship repair.

The plant has two technological lines for the construction of medium and large vessels. The large-tonnage line is used for the construction of tankers and container ships, while the medium-tonnage lines are used to build barges, pontoons and tugs.

The owner of the plant is the Nikolaev businessman Vasily Kapatsyna.
