At the metallurgical plant of PrJSC "Kamet-Stal" of the Metinvest group, under the supervision of specialists from the Novokramatorsky Mashinostroitelny Zavod (NKMZ), acceptance tests of the overhead casting crane KMEL-320 + 100 /20-21.5-26 /29 /30- were successfully completed A8-U2 with a nominal lifting capacity of 320 tons manufactured by NKMZ OJSC.
The crane is equipped with a head trolley with a main lifting mechanism and an auxiliary trolley with lifting mechanisms of 100 tons and 20 tons to perform lifting and transport foundry and other auxiliary operations .
As part of the project, the crane was installed in the converter shop to replace the existing crane No. 12.
“It has a number of technical advantages over its predecessor. The crane control system is implemented on the basis of the industrial controller Simatic S7-300 with the display of parameters on the visualization panel located in the driver's cab. The electric drives of the crane mechanisms are built on the basis of Sinamics S120 frequency converters, which gives advantages compared to DC electric drives: an increase in the working life of technological equipment, a reduction in the cost of preventive and repair work, energy savings (due to energy recovery).
Thanks to the drive redundancy system, the crane remains in operation if the working frequency converter fails, and the main lift - even if one of the engines fails. The crane parameters diagnostic system is built on the basis of a wireless industrial interface, which allows the crane operator to perform equipment diagnostics from the workplace without climbing the crane.
Also, special attention was paid to the comfort and safety of the driver when designing the crane. Armored glass and a special grille are installed in the cab to protect the driver during the metal pouring process.
