The Mariupol assets of Metinvest Group did not take advantage of the tax holidays and will pay taxes on real estate and land in the amount of more than UAH 10 million to the local budget. This was reported by the public relations department in Mariupol of Metinvest Group.
Metallurgical plants named after Ilyich and Azovstal, Metinvest-Promservice and the Mariupol repair and mechanical plant - like the rest of the Group's enterprises, refused tax holidays provided for by Law No. 3220 "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine". This will help support the city during the period of quarantine measures against coronavirus. This decision was supported by the company's shareholders Rinat Akhmetov and Vadim Novinsky.
“Not only the welfare of their families, but also the filling of the state and city budgets depends on metallurgists. It is thanks to their daily feat that Mariupol has the opportunity to pay salaries to medical workers and provide hospitals with everything they need, ”said Enver Tskitishvili, General Director of the Azovstal steel plant of Metinvest Group.
Metinvest Group was one of the first to start providing assistance to Mariupol in the fight against the COVID-19 virus. The company allocated about UAH 7 million for the construction of equipment for supplying oxygen to three city hospitals. The Ilyich Metallurgical Plant supplies vital oxygen for intensive care units and the treatment of pulmonary diseases in the required volume.
