How chemical-mechanical polishing with amorphous particles will change metallurgy

The Russian project AEMTI (resident of the Skolkovo Technopark and the Innovation Promotion Fund) is one of the first projects in the country to develop compositions for chemical-mechanical polishing based on amorphous particles, not crystalline particles as suggested by other developers.

The commercial potential of the project lies in the competitive advantages of using a composition based on amorphous particles, including in metallurgy, heavy industry, and energy:

  • The cost is reduced for the end-manufacturer who uses chemo-mechanical polishing in the plant, since the composition based on amorphous particles is required in less quantity;
  • The speed of polishing surfaces increases;
  • Compositions based on amorphous particles are universal and suitable for all types of surfaces: hard, soft, inert, water-soluble and metallic;
  • The percentage of scrap and damage to products during the polishing process is reduced.

In this regard, the compositions developed by AEM Technologies will be of interest to both medium and large industrial enterprises not only in Russia, but also abroad.

The cost of selling 1 liter of manufactured products is several times less than that of competitors. This opens up wide opportunities for the widespread sale of the polishing composition.

In addition to selling finished products for chemical-mechanical polishing, AEMTI provides surface polishing services for enterprises, and also plans to enter into licensing agreements to adapt the technology to the specific tasks of a single enterprise.

The probability of the project's commercial success is extremely high, both investors and industry analysts pay attention to this.

This is partly due to the fact that at the moment in our country there are actually no other compositions based on amorphous particles of the proper quality level. In this regard, AEMTI can be considered one of the industry leaders.
