Demand for fuel trucks based on Asian truck chassis is growing among Ukrainian buyers

A new modern fuel truck is a special equipment that not only must safely transport fuel of the required volume. A feature of modern special equipment for the transportation of petroleum products is the ability to distribute and account for fuel, which is very important for the owner of the fuel business, who seeks to protect their activities from losses due to negligence and theft.

Which trucks are used to assemble tank trucks for tankers?

In 2021 and even the first winter months at the beginning of this year sale of fuel trucks in Ukraine was most in demand on the basis of Russian and Belarusian chassis: for example, according to the results of last year, the well-known Special Equipment Plant Tekhkomplekt occupied 55% of the market of all Ukrainian-made fuel tankers, moreover, half of all Tekhkomplekt branded tankers with a cross-section type "suitcase", used for the delivery of light oil products, was installed on new MAZs and GAZs (HDC).

This spring, the situation has changed radically: the demand for tankers in general has increased, and the demand for the use of base chassis types has also changed markedly. Despite the restrictions associated with martial law, it is still possible to buy a fuel truck in Ukraine with a built-in fuel distribution and metering system on order, but there are nuances in choosing the base chassis.

Now Belarusian and Russian new trucks are not imported to Ukrainian territory. Therefore, there has been a significant change in the portfolio of truck brands, whose chassis are used as base. Now European MAN and IVECO are in favor for the manufacture of large-capacity tankers (11 cubic meters), and Asian chassis from JAC and FOTON brands are also available at an excellent purchase price and operating cost (in the future, the use of Korean Hyundai and Chinese Dongfeng truck chassis as base for installation of tank trucks for the transportation of light oil products, so it’s not far off the opportunity to buy a fuel truck based on vehicles from these well-known "Asians" - contact the sales department in Kyiv for additional advice).

How many liters is a tanker based on Chinese JAC and FOTON chassis designed for?

The key characteristic of any tank truck for transporting fuel and lubricants is its volume and number of sections. By contacting the Special Equipment Plant Tekhkomplekt, you can order a tank:

  • with a volume in the range from 4 to 12 cubic meters (the resources of the plant allow the production of tankers with a larger volume - up to 20,000 liters)
  • designed for one, two, three or more types of transported fuel at the same time: 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-section tankers are manufactured at the factory.

If you choose European equipment from IVECO, then on the basis of Italian chassis, the Tekhkomplekt plant, depending on the IVECO model, will offer you 4- and 11-cc tankers. On the basis of MAN, you can get a 7- or 11-cubic-meter fuel truck. But the Chinese FOTON chassis are used for the manufacture of 5-cubic-meter tankers. The fuel truck model based on JAC N82 is designed for the same number of cubic meters. If you need a tanker truck with a capacity of 8000 liters, then the JAC N120 model should be used as the base chassis.
