Severstal, one of the largest vertically integrated steel gambling companies, together with the international holding Global Veture Alliace, are launching a collection of applications for participation in a case-championship on solving problems in the field of energy and transport. Students and postgraduates of technological universities can take part in the championship.
Participants are offered two cases from the field of logistics and energy to solve: "Freezing of charge materials in a gondola car in winter" and "Consumption of steam and heat with hot water in summer period ". Leading experts of the Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works will evaluate the results of the participants, taking into account the economic, technological efficiency and innovativeness of the proposal.
Authors of the best solutions will undergo a two-day training on presentation of ideas at the boot camp, and then present their solutions to the direct business customer - Severstal specialists. The winners of the championship will receive a grant of 50,000 rubles and will be able to undergo a paid internship at the company.

This is not the first a joint project of Severstal and GVA: in 2019 they launched the SteelTech accelerator for technology companies and start-ups. At the first stage of the program, more than 200 applications were collected. The selection took place in several areas: product innovation, process innovation and new business models. Full-time Accelerator was launched in August; Within three months the teams will work out their projects together with Severstal specialists and will conduct pilots at the company's production sites.
