Gaysky GOK will train future operators of LHD using a simulator

Guy (Orenburg Region)

The Training Center of PJSC "Gaysky GOK" (an enterprise of the raw materials complex of UMMC) has a simulator-simulator for training future operators of loading and hauling machines.

Equipment the workplace of the LHD driver on the simulator is completely identical to the real machine. And immersion in real mine conditions is created by three LCD monitors - they broadcast the image that the driver observes from the cabin. The simulator realistically conveys the operating environment of the LHD in underground workings.

The simulator allows you to familiarize yourself with the control systems, acquire the primary skills for starting the LHD engine, learn the rules of working on the machine, including a bucket set and loading ore into the body of an underground dump truck. The simulator provides various levels of work complexity. On it you can set the mode of simulating the behavior of the machine in case of violation of the operating rules.

B online mode on the teacher's monitor is transmitted the entire process of the LDM under the control of the student. In this case, the mentor can add additional tasks to the student, for example, report engine overheating or introduce an additional object on the path of the LHD (person, equipment) and track the driver's actions.

The simulator, worth almost 5 million rubles, is provided by an official dealer of Caterpillar equipment , with which Gaysky GOK has a long-term partnership.

- The use of a simulator will allow transferring to the surface part of the training process for new LHD drivers. Now, in order to practice the skills of driving and controlling underground equipment, you do not need to use working equipment and spend time using it for educational purposes. After a two-month course, the apprentices of LDM drivers will come to the workplace more prepared, having a real idea of working in mine conditions. The simulator will help us improve the quality of training to work on Caterpillar equipment and accelerate the training of drivers for independent work, - the head of the training center Sergey Demura estimated the new simulator.
