Workshop No. 5 of the Kolchuginsky Elektrokabel (part of the Cable Alliance Holding, which unites the cable assets of UMMC) in August this year produced cable products worth about 400 million rubles. This is the highest figure in the entire history of the production site (since 1915). Since the beginning of 2019, the monthly volume of production of cables and wires in workshop No. 5 in financial terms averaged 300 million rubles.
The increase in the indicator in August was influenced by the growth in production of control cables of the NIKI trademark and long-distance cables. which are the main products of the workshop. For example, the output of long-distance communication cables in the last month of summer almost doubled compared to July, and of control cables - five times.
The production site modernization carried out in 2018-2019 contributed to the achievement of a record figure. The total amount of investments exceeded 70 million rubles. Replacing the main units of technological lines with more modern ones made it possible to increase the speed of applying insulation to a conductive core. This, in turn, has increased the efficiency of equipment use. As a result, the time for making cables has been reduced and the volume of production has increased.
“Of course, the shop owes its record first of all to the workers who mobilized and made a big breakthrough. At the end of the month, when the bulk of the products was at the delivery area, an additional load fell on the technical control department and the finished goods warehouse. The specialists quickly restructured their work and did not let us down, "said Ivan Shoshinov, head of workshop No. 5 of EKZ JSC.
Now the company plans not only to increase volumes, but also to expand the range of products. In November, the shop will receive new equipment - 6 braiding machines, work is already underway to prepare for their installation.
