Employees of six enterprises belonging to the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) became laureates and prize—winners of the XXV All-Russian competition "Engineer of the Year - 2024". Recognition was given to 19 employees of the Volga Pipe Plant (VTZ), Pervouralsky Novotrubny Plant (PNTZ), Seversky (STZ) and Sinarsky (SinTZ) pipe plants, Taganrog Metallurgical Plant (TAGMET) and TMK Pipeline Solutions (TMK TR).
The competition is held in two rounds in two versions: "Professional Engineers" is for participants with at least five years of experience in engineering positions, and "Engineering Art of the young" is for young professionals under the age of 30 inclusive. The selection procedure included two rounds, during which an independent commission of prominent Russian scientists, designers and heads of leading domestic enterprises conducted an expert assessment of the contestants.
The jury highly appreciated the achievements of TMK employees in the development of new types of products and materials, improvement of production technology, modernization of equipment to increase its productivity and reliability, implementation of digital solutions and innovation proposals to optimize the production process and save resources, implementation of projects to improve occupational safety and environmental protection.
"TMK has created an advanced research base, an integrated personnel development system, as well as a program to stimulate innovation proposals and their selection, which allow employees to implement their creative engineering and organizational ideas. The annual recognition of our colleagues' achievements and competencies at the national level proves the effectiveness of this approach and demonstrates the high scientific and technical potential of the company as a whole," said Elena Pozolotina, TMK's Deputy General Director for Personnel Management.
The All-Russian Engineer of the Year Competition has been held annually by the Russian Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations since 2001. The participants of the competition who passed the first round according to the version of "Engineering art of the young" are awarded a diploma, "Professional engineers" — a certificate and a corresponding silver badge. The winners of the second round of the competition are awarded with a diploma and a commemorative medal "Winner of the competition". The laureates and participants of the competition who have received a certificate and a silver badge are entered in the Register of Professional engineers of Russia.
