The Severskaya Domna Museum Complex, which is located on the territory of the Seversk Pipe Plant (STZ) of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), entered the top ten of the national rating of "TOP 25" corporate museums. The object took the seventh place in the rating, which was compiled by experts of the National Award "Corporate Museum".
The evaluation criteria were three indicators: participation in the "Corporate Museum" competition, the title of the winner of the competition and the information activity of the facility. The award's experts noted the increased role of the Severskaya Domna museum complex in the social and cultural sphere of the Sverdlovsk Region.
In 2024, several exhibition projects were held here. In the spring, an exhibition of works by Ural painters "Spring again" was presented, later the exhibition "The First Pipe" about the history of the STZ pipe and electric welding workshop, which won the nomination "Exhibition of the Year" of the National Award "Corporate Museum". The 285th anniversary of the STZ became the main theme of the traditional action "Night of Museums", held at the Severskaya Blast FurnaceThe exhibition "Under the wing of the Seversk Heron" was also dedicated to him.
In addition, the exhibition "Man and Newspaper", which tells about the 70-year history of the factory newspaper STZ Seversky Rabochy, is open in the museum complex until February 26.
"The Severskaya Domna Museum Complex is not only a unique architectural object, but also a landmark cultural center of the Sverdlovsk region, which helps preserve and transfer knowledge about the traditions and history of the metallurgical industry and the entire Urals. The great importance of this object for the region was confirmed by awarding the museum the title of "Treasure of the Middle Urals" at the end of last year. We are grateful for the high position in the rating, as this is recognition of our efforts to develop the infrastructure of corporate museums," said Anna Trepalova, Head of TMK's Industrial tourism department.
In 2025, the STZ Museum celebrates its 55th anniversary, and the blast furnace itself celebrates its 165th anniversary. The blast furnace forms the basis of the museum complex — it is the only masterpiece of Ural industrial architecture of the mid-19th century, preserved almost intact to the present day. The complex covers an area of more than 8,000 square meters and includes two historical buildings (a blast furnace and a former furnace factory), as well as an open-air exposition of old equipment and mechanisms and the Transfiguration Chapel, made entirely of metal. The museum's collections contain 30,000 exhibits related to the history of Ural metallurgy. More than 20 thousand people visit Severskaya Blast Furnace annually.
The rating of the National Award "Corporate Museum" summarizes the six seasons of the award, starting in 2018. In 2025, experts selected 25 of the best corporate museums out of 200 applicants.
