TMK sites hosted a record number of industrial tourists in 2024

The Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) reports high rates of industrial tourism — by the end of 2024, more than 50,000 people visited TMK's production and museum sites, which is 20% more than in 2023. This is the best result in the entire history of the company's business development.

The tourist infrastructure has been created at four TMK enterprises: Volzhsky pipe (VTZ), Pervouralsky Novotrubny (PNTZ), Seversky Pipe (STZ) and Chelyabinsk Pipe rolling (ChelPipe) plants. Industrial tourism combines excursions to existing production facilities and visits to corporate museums. The company has opened two full-fledged modern museum facilities: the Severskaya Domna Museum complex, which is located on the STZ and is a striking example of Ural industrial architecture of the mid-19th century, and the PNTZ Museum and Exhibition Center.

All these sites receive tourists as part of cultural and business events. By the end of 2024, ChelPipe became the record holder in terms of the number of visitors among the production sites, which was visited by more than 9 thousand guests. The number of tourists at the PNTZ has also increased fourfold. Among museums, the Severskaya Domna museum complex holds the leading indicator, which receives more than 20 thousand visitors for the second year in a row.

Among the factors that influenced the growth of the tourist flow in 2024, the opening of the PNTZ museum and exhibition center with a modern multimedia exposition after modernization can be noted - in the absence of a museum of local lore in Pervouralsk, the center serves as the main urban museum space. In addition, the museum became the entry point for tourist groups to the factory, which made it possible to create a high-quality industrial tourism infrastructure at the enterprise. Large-scale exhibition projects at the Severskaya Domna Museum complex were also popular, including those organized for the 285th anniversary of the STZ. In addition, in 2024, commercial excursions for tour groups started at the ChelPipe, which allowed a wider range of visitors to enter the production.

"TMK systematically develops industrial tourism and considers it as an element of strategic communications. This activity helps to solve the tasks of preserving and promoting historical and industrial heritage, demonstrate technological achievements and concern for the environment, increase staff engagement and support the regional economy. The steady increase in the number of guests at TMK's sites confirms that interest in industrial tourism is constantly growing, and we will continue to make every effort to ensure that even more people can see modern Russian production and be inspired by its capabilities," she said.
